Airgun Nation has Launched

If you are wondering where I have been… I am over at the new forum –  I will leave up for a reference to the videos I have made on Youtube.  But, by and large, I am consolidating my “multi-point” online presence into one place (the new forum).  Trying to maintain conversations on this website, as well as Youtube, facebook, twitter, and multiple forums proved unsustainable.

So, I decided to create a community – a hub where all airgunners could come to ask questions, get answers, and lament about ‘fliers’ :).  It was a TON of work, which is why I nearly disappeared from Youtube and facebook for six months.  I was busting my tail designing that forum.

But, now it is finally done.  And, it is AWESOME!  It is designed to work just as well on your mobile phone as it would on your desktop.  It’s called “responsive design”, and it takes a lot of time and money to achieve.  But, when you see the site on your phone, you’ll understand that it is worth the effort.

I have appointed Michael Wendt as the forum administrator.  He, in turn, has brought in his team of moderators to help govern and keep the place productive.  I intend to take the approach of being a “regular” member – expressing my own opinions and experiences.  Michael is the man in charge.  You can read Michael’s and my introductions here:

See you over there!  :)

SnowPeak P12

So, as most of you know, I am not going to complete the “Bullpup Mania” project.  That is to say, I am not going to do a thorough comparison of the rifles.  However, I will still like to discuss each one, independently.  Any comparisons I make will be ‘nuts and bolts’ – like chronograph data, weight, length, etc (things that are not subjective).

I don’t see much need to talk about the Bobcats (.22 and .25) or the Matador .22 since all three of those guns have gotten a ton of exposure on my Youtube channel.  I will bring them up as a comparative measure to other bullpups in the same caliber.  But, I don’t intend to go any deeper than that.

The guns I DO want to discuss are the ones you have not seen me shoot – the Kalibr Cricket .25, SnowPeak (Mrodair tuned) P12 .22, and the Evanix Max ML .25.

Soooo, which one to do first?  Let’s tackle the most affordable – the SnowPeak P12 [click to continue].

I am Back in control of my Ship.

Exciting News!  I have retaken control of my website from the evil clutches of malware and viruses.  Well, to be truthful, I didn’t retake anything.  I paid someone to be the hero, and they have delivered.  So, I’m back in action!  Of course, the new site development chugs along, as well.  But, at least now I don’t have to wait two months until I can start typing again……and MUCH typing I am doing.  So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to get back to it. Bullpup reviews [individual] are on the way!

FX “No Limits” Scope Mounts

I know what you are thinking, “Really Ted?  You expect me to get excited about scope mounts?”  And, I would answer, “No…….unless you want to get the most accuracy possible out of that rig you are so proud of.”  We are talking about adjustable scope mounts.  And, I do not think they are simply a “nice addition” to a quality gun setup.  I think they are absolutely necessary to achieve harmony between your optics and your weapon. My Trip to the IWA Exhibition

For an air rifle enthusiast looking to see the latest and greatest, the IWA Show in Nuremberg, Germany has NO equal.  Shot Show (Las Vegas) may be the best place to see every AR-15 model under the sun, but can’t hold a candle to the quantity and diversity of air rifle manufacturers and distributors seen at IWA.  [Read On]

Winter Pigeon Hunting with my FX Bobcat .25

Still doing my part to try to remove the stigma of what you can and can’t eat. When it comes to ferals, it’s all about WHAT they are eating. These birds do not rummage through garbage. They eat grain that is meant for cattle and dairy. Put ‘em in the pot!

Raptor Pneumatics EZ Fill 4500psi Air Compressor

I got a look at this thing for the first time during the Extreme Benchrest competition last November.  AoA had one in their shop, and the second I saw it I knew that THIS was going to generate a lot of inquiries.  And I was right; as soon as this thing was made public, everyone was clamoring for any nugget of info they could find. The Best Pellet Trap – PERIOD!

If you do any indoor shooting or chronograph work, you have pondered the best way to stop a pellet.  And, if you own a high-power (30+fpe) air rifle, you need to get downright creative.  Oh sure, you could simply purchase a .22 rimfire bullet trap.  But, who the heck wants to hear all that racket of lead smacking steel?  Here are a couple ways to stop even large-caliber pellets safely and quietly…  [Read on]
